Shane, Venus, and Zarah Allana always dreamed of opening their own taqueria. The siblings grew up in the Oak Cliff neighborhood of Dallas, where taquerias are ubiquitous. “We learned Spanish [by ordering tacos] before we were even ordering Pakistani food,” says Venus, whose mother, Shazia Allana, is a Pakistani immigrant.The Allanas moved to Sugar Land in 2007 and would frequently drive to taco hot spots on Houston’s Airline Drive, about thirty miles away, to get their fix.
