On a Monday night in April, the new women’s sports pub 1972, located on the edge of the University of Texas campus in Austin, was busy. Dozens of basketball fans had gathered for a WNBA draft watch party, anticipating that the sole Texas team, the Dallas Wings, were going to select NCAA champion from the University of Connecticut Paige Bueckers with the number one pick.
