Taco editor José Ralat tells the story of Arturo Reyes, who lost his best friend to pancreatic cancer after the two had dreamed of opening a food business together. Reyes kept his promise to his friend, opening El Paso Flauta in 2022 with family recipes and distinct flavors from his upbringing in the Sun City and earning a spot on Texas Monthly’s Top 50 Tacos list.
