Laura Ingram, who is 36, has an office at Baylor Scott & White McLane Children’s Medical Center, in Temple, that looks, well, like an office. There are children’s drawings on the wall, papers littering a desk. But off to the side, sitting on an elevated gray bed, is Gigi, a yellow Lab. She’s a “facility dog”—similar to a therapy dog but with expert training. As a duo, Ingram and Gigi work long hours.
