No, Thank You.For fifty years, we named the state’s Ten Best and Ten Worst lawmakers after each legislative session, but for the July 2025 issue, we replaced our legendary list with a more nuanced investigation into the state’s power players. Our argument: The Lege is more ideologically polarized than ever, and “best” and “worst” no longer cut it. Two readers lamented the loss—of our rankings and our spine.Texas Monthly has a strong, long-standing tradition of ranking the Best and Worst Legislators after every biennial session.
