Last Saturday morning, Hannah Rapp, a 26-year-old boxer just five weeks removed from her first world-championship fight, and her boyfriend, William Pollalis, rode their bikes along a two-lane highway near College Station. According to multiple reports, a car sped by—dangerously close to the couple—and Pollalis yelled as it passed. In response, the car skidded to a stop, then reversed hard enough into Rapp that its back window shattered. Local deputies received a call at 9:50 a.m.: A vehicle had struck a cyclist, who was now lying in the street.
