Many of the attendees at Thursday night’s VIP preview party for the eighteenth annual Dallas Art Fair arrived at the Fashion Industry Gallery, in the Dallas Arts District, in looks that rivaled the contemporary and modern artworks from galleries around the world that were on display.Serious art collectors wore everything from silk wrap jackets and fringed suede shorts to dressed-up denim as they got a sneak peek at the works available for purchase from about ninety exhibitors before the three-day fair opened to an anticipated 16,000 visitors. The preview gala served as a benefit for the Dallas Art Fair Foundation’s Acquisition Fund, which was seeded in 2016 with $50,000 by ten patron families to transform artists’ careers and support the city’s art institutions.
