Scanning the horizon for barbecue-joint signs is second nature while I’m out on the road. Cigar shops with “Smoke” in the name often get my hopes up for a brief moment, but restaurants usually make themselves pretty obvious. Not so in the case of Smokey Black’s BBQ, across from Fair Park, in Dallas. Kamayua Black opened the place three years ago, and though it’s just a fifteen-minute drive from my home, I’d never heard of it until recently.
