Ross Gomez, a fifty-year-old corrections officer and musician, can lay claim to two catches in that size class: a 13.22-pounder, in February 2023, and a 14.78-pound slab, in February 2025, pulled from the same spot in Lake Alan Henry, a reservoir near Lubbock.
